Exxaro Base Metals and Industrial Minerals asset structure
 The Rosh Pinah zinc/lead mine in southern Namibia and Zincor electrolytic refinery in Gauteng are among the few integrated zinc mining and refinery operations worldwide. Exxaro has an interest in the Chifeng zinc refinery in China. In 2010, Rosh Pinah and Zincor produced 120kt each of zinc concentrate and zinc metal. A dedicated plant in Pretoria manufactures high-quality, gas-atomised ferrosilicon while the Glen Douglas dolomite mine provides a range of products for the steel, construction and agricultural sectors. The interest in the Glen Douglas operation was sold with effect from 1 January 2011.Exxaro is also progressing the divestment of its base metals interest. |
