Forzando Complex

Forzando Complex

Forzando Complex is situated in Mpumalanga province, 10 km north of Bethal, 55 km southeast of Witbank, and 140 km east of Johannesburg. It comprises two underground mines, namely Forzando North Colliery (FZON), and Forzando South Colliery (FZOS). Currently, only FZOS is in operation. FZON was placed under care and maintenance in February 2014 due to delayed capital injection.

FZOS produces, on average, 190Kt ROM per month and washes coal to produce a 5 300kcal/kg export product. FZON produced ± 300Kt ROM per month during its operational years. Both operations have a strong resources base.
