On 14 November, Exxaro was awarded the top prize at the JSE Top 40 and Chartered Secretaries of South Africa (CSSA) Integrated Reporting Awards for their Integrated Report – for the second year in a row.

In line with its corporate values of honest responsibility, Exxaro’s reports reflect its commitment to be accountable to all stakeholders through transparent and balanced reporting.

In their integrated report – which is release once a year - Exxaro ensures to articulate how it will achieve its strategic objectives through driving excellence across all functions within the structures of good governance.

The annual CSSA Awards started 62 years ago and have been encouraging businesses to continue to improve their annual financial and non-financial reporting.

Exxaro Executive Head of Stakeholder Affairs, Mzila Mthenjane explained, “Exxaro subscribes to the principles-based approach of the International Framework of demonstrating how it creates value over time for key internal and external stakeholders. We furthermore strive to provide our stakeholders annually with an integrated view of our financial, operational, environmental, social and governance performance”

Exxaro continually strives to improve the integrated thinking and management within the organisation and our integrated reporting is an outcome that reflects this principle.

Other areas which are analysed in the integrated report, include demonstrating how it creates value through its business model with the trade-offs across the six capitals.
